About

Sophie is an associate at MDW Law practicing in the area of family law in the Halifax office.  She was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2026.  Sophie holds a Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University.

Sophie knew early in law school that she wanted to pursue family law. She was drawn to the practice area for its interpersonal nature and the opportunity to guide clients through some of the most difficult and emotional periods of their lives with compassion and practical support. She understands that family law matters are deeply personal and strives to help clients feel supported and informed throughout the legal process.

While attending the Schulich School of Law, Sophie excelled in her family law studies and was awarded the Allistar Fraser Award in Family Law for achieving the highest standing in family law courses in her graduating year. During law school, she also dedicated her time to the Dalhousie Legal Education Society’s Consent Project, which provided education to middle and high school students throughout Nova Scotia about giving and receiving consent.

Outside of the office, Sophie enjoys going to Pilates classes and spending time with her beloved Maltese, Ham, often walking through Point Pleasant Park.
