About

Katie joined MDW Law as an Associate in 2025 and practices in the area of family and divorce law.

Originally from Cape Breton, Katie attended Cape Breton University where she obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts Community Studies degrees before pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law. Katie articled and began her legal career with a regional firm in Sydney, Nova Scotia, where she gained valuable experience as a general practitioner, appearing on behalf of clients in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia (Family Division), the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia (General Division), and the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia.

Katie understands that clients seek counsel during some of the most challenging and uncertain points of their lives, and is committed to providing a client-centered, results-oriented approach to legal services that is grounded by empathy and respect for the client experience.

Outside of the office, Katie enjoys reading a good book, and spending quality time with family and friends.
